Hello, my name is Kimberly and I am a book-a-holic. I am most delighted when surrounded by stacks of books and delving into them for research or just because I like to fondle them. I get tingles up my spine when I hear UPS trucks (and yes, I know the sound) because they bring me Amazon deliveries and boxes full of books. Put me in a used bookstore and I will not emerge for hours and sometimes with a stack as tall as me.
It only makes sense to share a Bliss-Inducing book list to further your own pursuit on the path and get you in the mood for 22 Days to Bliss. Plus, we can get all book nerd with each other.
Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte – Danielle asks the life-confirming question: How do you want to feel? And then brilliantly leads us through an intense process to discover our Core Desired Feelings. This is a professional and personal life-changer. Also recommended is The Fire Starter Sessions.
The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown – Brene Brown gives us full, whole-hearted permission to release shame and guilt and to embrace who we really are. SHE is a gift and I love all of her books, but this one is truly special.
Succulent Wild Woman by Sark – I love saying the word “succulent” and I love the journey that Sark inspires with her creativity, colors and wisdom. Do it. Be a Succulent Wild Woman.
Sacred Circles: A Guide to Creating Your Own Women’s Spirituality Group by Robin Carnes – one of my personal Branches of Bliss is community and the gathering of women around me. Start your own group, gather, connect, shine.
Crones Don’t Whine by Dr. Jean Shinoda Bolen – the tagline is concentrated wisdom for juicy women and the wisdom in this book delights, inspires and makes you get excited about next stages in life.
Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom by Dr. Christiane Northrup – inhabiting our bodies, knowing our bodies and loving our bodies is brought to focus by Dr. Northrup’s plain-speaking delivery. Her weekly radio show rocks too.
Becoming Light by Erica Jong – dark paths are sometimes the way to the light of bliss and poetry is words for our Souls. Sink into this book – so much is soul-startlingly awesome.
When God Was a Woman by Merlin Stone – there is a quiet and penetrating Bliss in re-claiming the Divine Feminine and inviting the Goddesses into our lives. Merlin Stone brings the ancient myths to life.
The Art of Simple Food by Alice Waters – Alice Waters began a Delicious Revolution, inspires my eating (except on french fry days) and simply had to be included for Blissful Revolution.
I could go on. and on. Feast on these and there will be more later, I promise.
