The Moon is Full in Scorpio on Wednesday, May 10 at 5:42 pm eastern. Whenever Scorpio shows up, we can brace for some intense energies and possible hidden agendas coming our way. This Full Moon has been building since the potent Taurus New Moon last month and the culmination can add some profound emotional underpinnings to what is happening on the surface – another trait of watery Scorpio.
This full moon is sitting in a sweet spot among the stars, save for the fact that it’s in Scorpio. Scorpio doesn’t do sweet. It does intense. It does cathartic. It does down and dirty. This full moon, therefore, can be used to tap into the transformative power of the therapeutic process. This full moon can help us to understand, in greater depth, our ability to take what has been painful and pour it into what is productive. This moon can remind us of the powerful fuel that our emotions can be. ~ Chani Nicholas
Scorpio is ruled by Mars (squaring Neptune and trining Jupiter this week) and Pluto (trining the Sun and sextiling the Moon) which is also in retrograde. All of these cosmic maneuverings can bring magnification to truths or heighten anxiety about illusions. Thankfully, these aspects are reported to be brief, so the best option is to hang in there and let things unfold as they will.
This Full Moon in Scorpio is bringing transformation, whether in the depths and to be revealed later, or activating your consciousness right in the moment. As we lead up to this Moon, get clear about the seeds that you have planted, what you would like to see coming into full bloom, and what is no longer necessary. Scorpio is also a favorable sign for magic, ritual work, and Akashic (past life) work. Set the tone for this moon through deep, inner journeywork with the Ancestors, with past lives, and add a ritual boost to your intentions.
How apropos that the Moirae are stepping forward for this intense Scorpio Full Moon that invites magical and Akashic work! Who better than these three sisters to assist us in discovering the meanderings of our soul in past lives? Who better to consult on the impact of deep inner work on the evolution of our destiny and mission in this world?
The Greek Fates, the Moirae (meaning apportioners), are the ancient Goddesses of Destiny and daughters of Ananke, Goddess Necessity. No God or human can sway them. Their Norse sisters are called the Norns and the Fates appear regularly throughout mythology and ancient dramas.
There are three sisters, Clotho (The Spinner), Lachesis (The Measurer), and Atropos (The Inevitable and the one who snips the thread of the soul). The Fates usually show up when a significant life event has happened or is about to happen. They are not Goddesses to be taken lightly. Their influence is no less than destiny itself and their appearance may coincide with major life decisions, momentous shifts, and the thresholds of life and death. These Ladies of Serendipity also arrive when we have forgotten our destiny and need to be reminded of our potential and even soul contracts in the space before time.
Have you put your destiny, your potential, on the back burner? Is it time to plan the process of stepping more fully into yourself? The Fates agree. A meditation and a nice cup of tea with these primordial Goddesses might be in order. And then a plan – they looooove plans.
Connect further with The Fates through divination and deep meditation of any kind. Crystals that are particularly attuned to working with the Fates are Record Keepers, crystal quartz, elestial smokey quartz, black moonstone, eye agate, mookaite (for the Ancestors as well), apatite, fossilized wood, and ammonite. If you are unfamiliar with Akashic work, I recommend readings through experienced practitioners.
The Third Eye
Synchronicity continues with the Third Eye Oracle Card from Noa Knafo’s Visionary Deck. The sixth chakra, Ajna, is the third eye chakra that sits right between the brows. It is our psychic center, the focus for intuition, lucid dreaming, psychic development, imagination, and all the “clairs” (clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience, claircognizance, etc.). Our inner knowing, messages from Guides, Guardians, and Goddesses, are expressed through this chakra. We use the third eye to perceive our psychic experiences and travel between the worlds.
Full Moons already enhance our psychic selves, drawing us into the depths of feminine, lunar wisdom and heightened connection to Goddess.
During this potent Scorpio moon, take stock in the health and viability of your intuition and psychic development. Are you refreshing the third eye with regular practice and meditation? How often are you exercising your psychic abilities? Do you keep a dream journal? These are all ways to strengthen your “clairs” and develop your intuition.
Working with crystals during meditation or to carry as a bundle can be a great boost to your third eye chakra. Crystals that enhance your Third Eye chakra and psychic development: most blue crystals (for third eye), amethyst, ametrine, blue topaz, celestite, charoite, clear quartz, copper, labradorite, lapis lazuli, mookaite, moonstone, scolecite.
