We can still astonish the gods in humanity
And be the stuff of future legends,
If we but dare to be real,
And have the courage to see
That this is the time to dream
The best dream of them all.

The New Moon occurs at 18 degrees of Aries on April 7, 2016 at 7:42 am eastern time. And it is a doozy, as Aries energy tends to be. We are past the eclipse moons of March (feel free to dance wildly!), although the effects of them are more far-reaching than March (remember to pay attention!). This week, Aries energy abounds with the New Moon in Aries and a boost from the Aries Sun.
Since Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, your New Moon intentions are particularly potent within the framework of new beginnings. Spend some time in contemplation of what messages came out of March that may be applied to future creativity and goals. Explore and identify the areas that still feel unsettled and are producing anxiety. These are the areas where the fires of courage and authenticity may be applied with your intention setting this New Moon.
Commitment to our personal goals is being called for and the New Moon in Aries is inviting the energies of Strength, Independence Adventure, and Warrior Energy.
Aries is always a get up and GO kind of push that is extremely helpful on one hand, but be aware of impatience, impulsive action, allowing things to be blown out of proportion, and the ram them first and ask questions later kind of mentality. Wild, empowering energy does come with a price, much as we love being swept away by the infusion of Aries fire! Look for growth and and movement by the next Full Moon and manifested results by the Aries Full Moon in October 2016.
Around this New Moon in Aries, sit with your intentions – your seeds. Write them in your journal. Powwow with your inner guru. Ask Goddess for guidance. Pull out your tarot, oracle, and Goddess cards for divination. Balance the untamed urges of Aries by taking your time with these seeds and intentions.
- What lights me up and makes me feel thrilled to my core?
- What areas of my life need strength?
- How do I want to feel in my life right now?
- When do I feel most authentically my Self?Add MeNew DietAdd Me
- What actions can I take to feel lit up and empowered?
- What makes me feel creative?
- Is fear or uncertainty driving my choices and actions?
- What seeds can I plant now to light the flames of intentions for my future?
- What results do I want to see in two weeks, two months, and six months?
It is also worth noting that the Fire Signs are setting planets on fire across the board at the moment, elevating the New Moon energy. Sun is in Aries, New Moon in Aries, Mercury was in Aries until the 5th, Venus moved into Aries on the 5th, Mars in Sagittarius. That is a cosmic bonfire!
The skies are on fire this week. Fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) inspire, create, awaken enthusiasm, and move freely. Fire signs run on passion, desire, action and the ability to translate their intuition into creative self-expression. Fire signs burn bright and have warmth and light to spare. That is, when they aren’t over-heating and burning down bridges. Chani Nicholas
Some of the crystals that I am working with for this New Moon are: red garnet, citrine, yellow obsidian, black moonstone, fire opal, carnelian, red calcite, and red jade.
Goddesses that can be effective for this New Moon are: Sekhmet, Kali, Shakti, Ix Chel, Brigid, and Isis
I posted a New Moon Ceremony for Releasing Obstacles and Setting Intentions on MotherHouse that can be adapted for any New Moon. Remember, New Moon (and Full Moon) energy is most effective within three days of the moon before or after. It’s important to release obstacles and then fill the space with new intentions!
