I left Delaware twenty years ago and the last time that I set foot in the state was when my Grandmother passed over sixteen years ago. I left because I was fleeing a broken heart – my first love and I had broken up, my Dad had recently been transferred to Florida, so I blindly fled. I had no ill will towards the state itself, I simply could not be there at that time. Then, of course, life happens and I was where I was – South Florida.
The opportunity came up in mid-October to drive up with my Mom and so I embarked on a 17 day journey to answer the above question. Not only did I answer the question in the affirmative, but I have made the decision to move back up there permanently by next summer/fall. After one day, the energy of HOME infused me. Family is there, friends are there and Goddess Bless, the FULL FOUR SEASONS are there!
Thankfully, my work is mobile so I can be anywhere and now begins the packing, divesting and moving process (again). The difference is that for this move there is no time constraint. I can do it thoughtfully and on my terms. It can unfold naturally … without a financial crunch and the stress of having to be there before I am ready. What a blessing. This will make the fifth major move in ten years (Arizona, London, Utah, Florida again) and the goal of returning to Delaware is ROOTS. I want to put down roots that can extend and flAdd MeAdd Meourish and be stable. My mouth to Goddess’ ears.
The trip was amazing – a whirlwind of family visits, giggles with the girls, LOTS of eating, and re-orienting to the place that was “home” for the first 25 years of my life. And absorbing the glory of Fall … ohhhhh how I missed that.
A few of the highlights from the trip … some of my favorites …. and a question for you – Where is your home?
