Happy New Moon in Taurus! The moon is NEW on Wednesday, April 26 at 816am eastern. Taurus is an earth sign in the zodiac and ruled by the planet Venus (who just went direct from her recent retrograde).
This New Moon in Taurus is a Sacred Pause; an opportunity for us to be still, contemplate our intentions, gather our forces, and invite messages from our Guardians, Guides, and Goddesses as to how we may expand our awareness to promote our true heart’s desire, stability, and physical circumstances. Taurus moons are know for their manifestation magic. Especially in this lunation, there are ripe opportunities to take the time to think about what we want for our future, plant potent seeds, and nourish the seeds that have already been planted to support our intentions.
The lack of aspects in this lunation chart is akin to leaning on a spade and pausing to admire your garden for a moment whilst chewing a piece of grass. Even though there are bigger movements going on in the skies such as the painful square between Saturn and Chiron which perfects on April 30, this New Moon is about taking time out. Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto are retrograde so we can anticipate that life will be a little slow. Taurus likes to pace itself, take it’s own sweet time.

There are larger cosmic dances at play. We do have four planets in retrograde, so this earthy, heart-filled interlude with the New Moon is even more precious. The invitation from this New Moon is to immerse ourselves in the blessings of Earth. Be present, bring your daydreams into manifestation by grounding them in the reality of this New Moon. What supports us (physically, organizationally)? Where are the foundations that sustain us? Who are the people and collaborations that nourish us? What do we need to feel safe and secure? What makes our hearts and our sense of satisfaction swell? How can we invite more of what tastes, feels, smells good?
And most importantly … What brings joy and satisfaction to our hearts that we can bring into reality right now? No more waiting for someday … this is us creating and manifesting in the present moment of this lunation. What is right in front of you? BOOM.
Our Goddess for the New Moon is the Ancient Irish Goddess Danu – The Great Mother of the Gods and the Tuatha de Danaan, the peoples/tribe of the Goddess Danu. She is a Goddess of the Land (capital L) and encompasses the rolling green hills, the rocky mountains, and the flowing waters. She is elemental magick and shares her wisdom and inspiration through our connection to the land and waters.
The card for Danu that I pulled says: “Use your knowledge to prosper. You have the tools.”
Could there be a more brilliant reminder of what this New Moon in Taurus is all about? We can sink into the earthy blessings of Danu and invite the knowledge and wisdom of her depths. We can exercise Add MeNew JobAdd Meour own elemental magic to celebrate this lunation and what we bring into creation.
Step onto the earth for Danu. Hug a tree. Put your bare skin right onto the land, caress the waters of a river, allow the wind to purify you, soak in the solar rays. Bring yourself back to center through the blessings of Danu.
Our oracle card for the New Moon is the HEART card from the Change Me Prayers Oracle Deck by Tosha Silver – I love, love this deck. The messages never fail to resonate. And here we are in under the influence of Taurus which is ruled by Venus and being pulled back into our hearts.
“Change me Divine Beloved into one who can allow Love to lead my life. May I offer myself completely to the Highest so all may occur as needed. Grant me peace and contentment wherever I am. Use me for the greatest good.” ~ Tosha Silver, Change Me Prayers Oracle Deck
There is no greater calling than the one from within that returns us to our divine center. Venus has just recently gone direct and we may be still feeling the effects, as well as the other challengesissuesreviewskarmandomg from multiple planets in retrograde.
Venus is still trekking through the terrain of her latest retrograde, even though she is now moving direct as a glorious and bright morning star. Venus is helping us to finish up the lessons that we have learned in love and war. Helping us to see what we need to help our hearts heal. Helping us to remember that we too, will rise again, even if this isn’t quite the moment to do so. ~ Chani Nicholas
The sacred pause of this New Moon gives us a chance to breathe. To gather up the tatters and soothe the frays of the past few weeks (months). To stand in the center of a gorgeous earth medicine-filled lunation and to BE. Yes, this is a moon of manifestation, but before we take off, take some moments to be. To lay on the Land of Danu and vision the next steps.
Goddess, heart, and moon. I cannot think of a better combo for right now.
Blessings of the New Moon to You!
